FAQ's

How many sessions will I need?

This will vary from person to person and depend on what issues you are wanting to explore during our time together. For some people they just need a few sessions to get them back on track, but lots of people want to come for a longer period of time, maybe because they want to explore more deep rooted issues or have had a lot of different things going on. There is no set number of sessions so you can come for as long as is right for you and we will review this regular during our work together.

How long will the session last?

Each sessions is a 'therapeutic hour' which is fifty minutes. During this time we may recap what we did the following week, discuss where you would like to begin that days session, discuss if there is any goals for the following week and arrange the following session. This time is yours to use as you wish.

Are the sessions confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to the work we will do together. I will explain my policy to you when we meet. I will only ever share what you say with another person if I have reason to think that there is a risk of serious harm either to you or to another person

How do I know if counselling is right for me or if I am ready?

Counselling can be extremely beneficial and life changing for some people, however it is not right for everyone and it isn't always the right time in someone's life to be accessing it. Ask yourself the following questions: Am I ready to talk about myself and things going on in my life with someone else?  Am I ready to start making some changes in myself and my life? If the answers are yes, then now could be the right time for you.
